Just a little update on Nuggie
He’s being thoroughly spoilt by Imogen, who absolutely adores him.
Last week, Rainbow Equine Vets came out as his medication was due and needs a vet check before it can be prescribed. Thankfully, he didn’t need any further blood tests. He is an older boy and does have some arthritis, but he’s loving life and doing really well.
Nuggie also had the dentist out yesterday and was an absolute star — he didn’t even need sedation this time like he did when he first arrived. He hardly needed any work at all, and the dentist completely fell in love with him and didn’t even charge.
The farrier did identify a small amount of active laminitis, which just goes to show that grass can still contain sugar even at this time of year. Because it’s been caught early, he’ll be kept in for a short while (which he won’t be impressed about!) and given some bute to keep him comfortable. He should be back to normal very soon. The farrier is coming back in the next couple of weeks.
He really is such a special little boy and very much loved
